Syracuse University’s 15,000 square-foot soundstage housed in the Syracuse Film Hub is available to students enrolled in film programs at the University in upstate New York. Students will also have access to editing suites and the latest film gear. The graduate program at the College of Visual and Performing Arts is widely considered to be one of the top 50 programs in the country. Students will have the opportunity to study abroad in locations like London, Berlin and Florence as well as the chance to take a semester-long course in 35mm filmmaking at the famous Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague.
The university has also recently announced a partnership with Sundance Film Festival to send a group of students to Park City to soak up the festival atmosphere and mingle with professional film industry bigwigs and soak up the festival environment. The schools also hosts the annual Syracuse University Human Rights Film Festival, which screens, which is open to the public. Notable Syracuse alumni include television writer and producer, Danny Zucker, producer Lila Yacoub, and Sony VFX supervisor Mike Lasker.
