Savannah College of Art and Design play host to the annual Savannah Film Festival which utilizes the two theaters owned by the school. The festival has attracted many big names from the world of film to the Georgian city in past including Hugh Jackman, Emily Blunt, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and John Krasinski to name a few. Owing to the popularity of the film festival, Savannah College of Art and Design has launched several other festivals such as AnimationFest, GamingFest, and TVFest.
Students enrolled in the film programs will have access to sound-stages at the close by Savannah Film Studios in addition to the college run facilities at the Digital Media Centre located in Atlanta. The 60,000 square-foot Media Center enables students to work and train in a real-world studio environment using the latest technology, such as brand new 4K cameras. Notable alumni of Savannah College of Art and Design include Hollywood stuntman Clayton Haskell, and the founders of Rocksauce Studios Steven Walker, Q Manning, and Peter Yoder.
