Florida State University

Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts has a relatively small number of students at around just 215 enrolled in both undergraduate and graduate programs at the film school. The film program is classed as one of the Limited Access Programs due to the student demand exceeding the available resources and so admission remains restricted and extremely competitive.

However, the close-knit community of students has famously stuck together even after graduation, as writer-director Barry Jenkins and his crew of former classmates picked up 8 Academy Award nominations for Moonlight, winning the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay. They aren't the only Florida State Uni alumni to have gone on to achieve great things, other notable alumni include Lauren Miller Rogan, writer, and director of the Netflix film Like Father, Stephen Broussard, Marvel Studios Vice President of Production and Development, and Kelsey Scott of Fear The Walking Dead fame.
